I have a cousin that help design the video card for the first xbox and can read and write 9 different computer languages ... his motto is do a fresh install of the OS every six months to a year without fail even if you are not having any problems. He has worked in the industry for almost 3 decades... so I consider his advice sound.

If you can properly maintain an OS install and not infect it to all hell, should run forever. Mines just got a silly video driver error that I can't fix. Plus, it's running on a Samsung SM951 (2,200mb) which is 4-6x faster than a traditional SSD (300-550mb)
 
Just upgraded to 10, no complaints so far. Everything went smooth and I enjoy the new start menu a lot better than 8.
 
I have to say that on my pci-e ssd chrome takes about 15 seconds to launch on my X1 Carbon and about 5 Seconds on my desktop instead of instantly. A little disappointed in the launching time of applications but overall the overall speed of things is nice

Gotta find my external drive that is somewhere in my house/car so I can backup and do a fresh install
