Credit Card Debt

Impressive guys, good job! I'm actually really glad those that have replied so far are on top of it. I'm now paid way more than I'm worth and am paying debit only now, so it'll get worked down slowly but surely. Definitely something that would've been done differently if I could go back in time though. :) Hindsight's 20/20.

Sometimes credit is very helpful though. I'm glad I have a large credit line at this particular time in my life. I just moved to Phoenix and spent a month in training. I'm getting ready to be an over the road trucker and needed some shit, plus I hadn't saved up all that much prior to moving here. So having as large credit line as I do, I can comfortable buy all that I want/need and not freak the fuck out about being broke, knowing that I'm about to start making pretty decent money and will be able to pay off the couple grand I just racked up in no time. But yeah, too much credit card debt is horrible and you feel fucking trapped haha

Yeah, my wife always wants me to cut up cards and close accounts, but I believe it's good to have the the age of the accounts and higher credit available as long as the balances remain low.

@d00b My 4-year-old is sitting here while I type and he's asking what the pictures are for (avatars). He says, "Is that Cortana?!"

hah! Not quite. It's actually the logo for an old punk band, The Germs.

I also have racked up a hefty amount of debt the past three years. 7k student loans, 6k cc debt, 5k medical bills... I did just pay off a $1500 credit card so I am well on my way lol. I have no excuse, I just live beyond my means sometimes and I dont need to.

I've seen 10k miles GTRs for 60k. Pretty good deal IMO. Figure put down 10 grand, that's only like $900 a month

Wow where the hell can I find this at? damn I need to start looking, everything I find at less then 70k has a salvaged title.

Paid off all my CC debt and student loans within a year of my first engineering job (~20k). After I got laid off a few years ago, the debt built back up (~10k). When I got another job, it didn't pay as much, so I still wasn't able to reduce it much. Then I got a raise, and I've been paying it down ever since I paid off my car... it's gettin there (~5k) - but ever since I got back into snowboarding/skiing, it has slowed, lol.

Ironically when I got paid less I have no debt. My salary jumped up 30% and my debt rises at the same time. WTF???
