our names, explained...

The current names I use are really recent.

My forum name is because, at the time I made the account, Protoss was really sucking in Starcraft. The Zerg turtle-to-broodlord/infestor strategy was the bane of every Protoss player's existence. I actually saw the pic that is now my icon, and I thought the name captured both my feeling and the image :)

"A Stable Carbocation" is from organic chemistry. I just really liked the sound of it. Also, most carbocations are unstable compared to non-transition state molecules, so it was kind of funny as well :)

Man, I wish I had some cool coming of age story, first carnal fulfillment or such, sadly not the case. This will seriously date me for those not in the know as it all started around the time the very first online group FPS game came out. Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and people got on the internet through a 14.4kbs dialup modem, the first game to offer multiple servers and a ping indication was made for the single player game, Duke Nukem. A secondary company came up with an interface that allowed you to ping known servers and allow multiple connections, that software was called Kali Net. It was pretty damn revolutionary even if the game play was some what archaic, it laid the groundwork for all that has come to pass.

By the time I got the software, some asshat had already taken my usual game tag and was forced to come up with something else. Way too impatient to put much thought into I had a San Jose Mercury newspaper sitting beside my computer and the headlines were for a local mass transportation system they named, "Fast Track". I just melded it into one name and it has stuck for well over... many years :-P

Sounds like a Story youve told your grand kids a few times already!

Globe - Been using this alias since maybe 2003.. was making a new account for starcraft and couldnt think of anything. in my skater days all i wore was globe shoes..looked down, saw my shoes and ran with it.

I was using the alias Mad Max when i first started playing the the 47r servers... Max is my son's name.

I loved the name Hanzo and yes it is a real person and also a weapon. :p
Hattori Hanzō - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I use to go by the name Dnslayer back in early 1.5, 1.6 and some other FPS games then decided to make up Ghonzo after Hanzo :D.
Btw I know some of you guys might recognize Gonzo the hentai/anime production.... No I did not get Ghonzo from them no matter how many times people ask me.
