New Phone Time

It's time for a new phone! I wanted to see what's out there and what you all think is the best. I know for sure that I am interested in the following phones, please give your thoughts and recommendations about these phones or others. As a sidenote, I am not so much concerned about exterior phone design, as performance is more important for my uses. I've never liked Apple iOS or small screens; however, if Apple has a larger phone in the works, I might consider it.

Current carrier - Sprint. May consider switching, but only to T-mobile. They have excellent service where I live and I like the concept of not having a contract.

1. Galaxy s5
2. Galaxy Note 4 (whenever it comes out)
3. HTC One M8
4. Google Nexus 6 (whenever it comes out)
5. Your suggestions!

I honestly all the new phone performance are pretty much up there. I think get whatever phone is coming out with sapphire screen. I believe the new iphone is gonna have it.

M8 is by far the best looking phone, the MotoX has the beat voice commands, the Nexus 5 is right in the middle of the two and it will get updates for another year. Nexus 5/6 2014 won't come out until the fall (most likely)

Most of the flagship phones are neck in neck with each other so it really comes down to design and features you want. I'm a Nexus guy from here on out because I don't like the bloat ware and skins that ugly up the look of the os.

It is really what you like so do some homework and fi d out what is best for you.

Edit: Yao is right about the sapphire glass, make that a must have feature if it comes to Android

I've done tons of research on the engineering of sapphire glass. I don't like how unfriendly it is to the environment...so I will stick to gorilla glass. I really like the nexus too. I really don't mind the bloatware os's though and can always root to pure android. I love the camera on the gs5. I am highly disappointed in the m8's camera..or id most likely get that.

Ya the battery in all phone is not friendly to mother land. Gorilla glass break too easily in my eye.

Well, hopefully you're not in a rush. There's always "the next big thing," but like you listed, there's a few biggies coming really soon.
I really like some of the features Samsung has added to the S# & Note phones. Kinda dirty the Galaxy Gear only works with Samsung phones too.
I haven't worn a watch since elementary school, but the new Android Wear phones look awesome (LG G Watch & Moto 360). At least those should work with other manufacturers.

I've heard rumors of the Nexus program ending, possibly next year. I hope it's not true, but it'd almost make sense if manufacturers are making their own bloat-free & unlocked Google Play Editions. Problem is those phones are expensive and the best thing about the Nexus 5 was the price.

I like Winphones. Just got me this POS for contract-free $59, and it works for me. AT&T gophone.

Amazon.com: Nokia Lumia 520 GoPhone (AT&T): Cell Phones & Accessories

I bought a 521 (pretty much the same as 520 but for t-mobile) to play with. I think the OS is pretty slick and is smooth on the low-end phones. It just severely needs more apps. I know that'll get better in time.
Also, speaking of cheaper and/or no contract phones, the Moto G has been a hit. A bit lower in specs, but still amazing for the $99 it's sold for at some places.
