PINNED NBA 2013/2014 Season Discussion

Also this is the farthest from the truth you can possibly be. A generic response to this is Jordan on the wizards and Lebron on the Cavs. Every single thing you do in this game in about teamwork. Passing, assists, screens. Now Baseball I could understand, but Basketball seriously? Amazing players are put on shitty teams with even shittier coaches all the time that is why they don't win. Look at the behemoth that was Memphis last year, and now look at them. They fired their great coach and have begun their decrease into mediocrity once again. Spurs are another example of how the game is team oriented. None of them are amazing scorers or put up out of this world numbers(maybe in the past but definitely not now). But they have made it to the playoffs the what last 15-16 years? Max most of them play like 22-25 mins. The bench is averaging 45 points so far this season. Pacers are another great example of teamwork. So I would have to respectfully disagree. hah

I completely agree with what you said and I really do like that some teams can be that way without super stars just like the spurs and Nuggets. However take away Lebron from that cavs team that went to the finals and they would've maybe only won 20 games max. Take Kobe away from the Lakers like now and they are an average team. Take away Steve Nash from the Suns when they were in contention and they would be nothing. Hell the Heat team without Lebron would finish .500 garenteed. What I am saying though is that I root for the players more than the team. My favorite team is the Nuggets and that's because I grew up around them. But I root for the players more than anything when it comes to basketball.

Damn, the Pacers are steam rolling everyone!
And of course the Spurs are slowly taking the lead in the west, they always seem to fly under the radar all season long until it comes down to the playoffs.

So since we are about halfway through the season or so lets get your opinions!

Though the spurs are going back and forth from 1st seed to 3rd, they have a few injuries to key pieces in their defense. Leonard, Green, Splitter. Though they should only be gone for a month, and it should only really affect how they do against better teams such as Pacers, heat, blazers, and thunder. They will continue to win against other teams, and stay top tier, when they unleash their full healthy self at the playoffs/end of season.I feel like the spurs will at least make it to the conference finals, if not the Finals itself.

The Raptors like a said, are doing amazing. Though even more so than I thought due to the disappointment of the Bulls(without rose), Knicks, and though they are doing better now, the Nets. They are going to hopefully stay in the 3rd-4th seed. I predict that they will win 50 games this year, or really close to it. Lowry, Derozen, and some of the others have been really picked it up since the Rudy Gay trade. So exciting to watch it unfold.

Other notes: Sucks about the timberwolves, they have lost their groove and unless they pull it together they will not relinquish that highly sought after 7th/8th seed spot from the mavs or suns in the very competitive west. Golden state have improved greatly since the start of the season and the combo of Klay, Curry and Iggy, has been astounding.

I'm really worried for my Warriors. We play a pretty good first half, but against some of these teams, we just stop in the second half. Just came back from the Warriors/Spurs game and I just kinda gave up starting 4th quarter. No execution, Harrison Barnes just kept chucking and missing open shots, and the refs were blind during significant plays.

Yeah Refs tend to do that. I hope the Warriors make it out of the first round this year. I would rather the spurs play them over the rockets.
