Map suggestions for the go server

cbble is a cool map, though it's pretty ct sided. I'm glad it was added to the rotation nonetheless.

A point on season if I may:
It's unrealistic to believe that anyone is going to enjoy the map pool unanimously. Opinions of maps vary from person to person, and that's just the way it goes. In the time I've played cs since source killed off 1.6, season has been one of the few reliable maps for bringing in traffic that I've encountered. Map changes sometimes lower server pop, and there's honestly no way of avoiding this problem short of having a 24/7 d2 server in this day and age.
Season is a scrim map from way back in the day, and it's actually quite well designed (and different) if you take the time to consider the layout rationally. I personally hate plenty of maps we play regularly, but I'm also aware that this is unavoidable, because no two humans are alike. I've noticed some of you guys just want to play simple cs more akin to call of duty style, and your map preferences reflect this.
All we can really do is try and strike a balance between the classics, and the new school rush style. That said, there are plenty of maps we still need to upload, which would help make the server a more dynamic playing experience.
We need piranesi, prodigy, chateau (unless it was b1 maps that glitched the server) and fire - as well as an updated version of strike (mirage) - not only for the reasons listed above, but also for a change in the team dynamic. A point which goes without saying is that de_ maps are usually ct sided, and cs_ maps are almost always t sided. The aforementioned 5 throw a wrench into the equation because they're all de_ maps, and if anything, they're all t sided. (Name one de_ map we play regularly that you'd call t sided)

We can also implement some less regarded old maps into more regular play as well. Nuke and train for example. Italy has always been very popular, and is now more balanced than ever. The original dust is also a lot better now than it used to be with the underpass addition. Aztec, vertigo and assault aren't great in my opinion, but they're fresh tilesets, and people like them. (Especially aztec) Hell even office now and again wouldn't be the crime of the century. Throwing maps like the ones I've listed, as well as some of the newer ones (especially thunder) into the mix will help ease the feeling of repetition. Admins such as myself can do a better job of integrating some curve balls as well. Meteora is an example of a cool map I'd like to give more playtime.

I know many of you don't like having to play d2/inferno constantly, but reality isn't what you make of it. The truth of the matter is that these are the only two maps that won't run you the risk of decreasing server pop.
The server is doing well. Just roll with the punches and accept the fact that you're going to have to play a map you aren't in love with every now and again. (And if you're not a fan of d2 and inferno, maybe more often than not)

I'll scan the workshop and include an updated list of maps worth checking out.

personally I think we should change the time limit on the maps to 20 minutes. 30 minutes isnt long when you only have D2 and Office but with a large rotation i think shorter would be better. when a map kills the server it happens in the late in the 30 minutes. does anyone else think we should shorten to 20 minutes?

Okay, I just ran through the workshop for an hour or so and have some revelations.

Prodigy is currently glitch ridden, and so is chateau. (so ax those suggestions)
I did however find some new maps, and updates of old maps that will work.

1: strike is apparently back under the name: de_mirage_ce. Please add ASAP.
2: de_cpl_fire_ecg_ve. Stupidly long name, but I tested it, and the map is legit fire. This is the single greatest map in the history of cs. Keep on the lookout for a more streamlined name, but please add ASAP.
3: chinatown. This map is awesome! Very highly rated, extremely different, good aesthetically, and well crafted. Please add ASAP.
4: de_piranesi. I saw two versions with the same name. Not sure if there are any differences between them. Please test both, and add ASAP.
5: cs_backalley_go. Globe's suggestion, but I don't mind it. The map looks good aesthetically. Discretionary addition.
6: de_kyrenia. This is a really cool map. Kind of reminds me of de_kiratchi_01 for anyone who played cs 10 years ago. Please add ASAP.
7: de_mx_temple. I didn't love this one, but it's quite different and has a double layered single bombsite, which is unique. Discretionary addition.
8: pool_day. A good updated version of the classic. Perfect for late at night when the server is emptying and the few remaining players want to dick around. Please add ASAP.
9: de_corruption_csgo. This is almost like a hybrid of cbble and italy. It reminds me a lot of an older castle map I've since forgotten the name of. Pretty cool, worth a second look. Discretionary addition.

Cheers.

As long as there is always a change in scenery it's fine by me. What kills me is typing in timeleft and seeing 58 or so minutes.

i like piranesi good map
and fire is fun
lol @ poolday that shits ridiculous only good for like 5-10 mins :p

I'll go over that list tonight.

I would like to clarify, since I have been a little more than outspoken about Inferno and Dust2, and thus (I think) the primary person murkcity is addressing on this.

First, an admission. I used to play Cod a fair bit, but that was a while ago. Nor does it influence my map preferences. Anyone who knows the series knows that the series has had garbage maps for a while. Anyway, I hate slow maps because I am an impatient person. There are few things more boring than sitting and doing nothing, and this carries over to gaming. Inferno has the end of banana and apartments that are riddled with dudes just sitting there, waiting. Drives me insane. Dust has 4 ways in, but they are easy to watch. I don't want linear. I like Season, for instance. I think it's a shame people don't try and learn it. There are many routes tot he same place, you can't just sit somewhere and be safe. This is the best part of the map, IMO.

The only reason I despise D2 and Inferno is because 14v14 on them is absolutely atrocious. I have played them 6v6 and less while filling a server and I actually really like them. The problem is, these maps never stay 6v6 for long. So I would endorse Joshua Lein idea, 20 min a map.

I understand the server needs to to be full, and most of the time my IN GAME statements on the matter are mere whining.

As an aside, it's A thing I am working on; it's a bad habit of mine. If you see it, feel free to call it out.

TL; DR, I guess I would ask that we do as Josh said, and make it 20 minutes. I have noticed there are a lot of regulars now that play MOST of the maps, if we can get enough, we can play Dust and Inferno less. It makes me sad that people only want to play these maps, but I get it. Humans like the same thing over and over and over again. The fact that they are "classics" is absolutely, undeniably irrelevant to me, since I am new to CS.

Cheers for adding the ones you did. Strike is an all time great map, and the new two both look promising.

Just curious, did piranesi sleep with someone's mom, and everyone hates it now? What do I have to do to get that shit on the server? (Fire as well)
