Map suggestions for the go server

alot of those maps are Demolition and Arms race maps. They are really small and simple. Taking them off the list would make it a little more streamlined. Anyway I just spent about 2.5 hours DLing and plying a bunch of the top rated maps in the workshop and found about 8 maps id want to try not including the maps Murk suggested like Pira and while i hate prodigy im up to try it.

Im not pushing for any of these maps to be in the set rotation. I just think it would be coold to have them in the admin map list so we can play them every now and then. There are alot of maps we do that with like militia and what not.

If you want to look at the maps i played they are
GWalior, Pira, Minaret, Season, Old Village, Siege, Cambodia, Cistern, Contra, Meteora, Castelvichhio (wrong spelling im sure), and cpl_fire

I know a bunch of them off hand. Contra is an ancient scrim map I used to hate, but others seemed to love it for whatever reason, and it did well on the last server I played regularly. Cambodia is a new map for go and would be cool if bombsite A wasn't the most poorly designed area in the history of cs. Siege was insanely t sided, but I always liked playing ct on it regardless. (Keep in mind this was 10 years ago)

I wouldn't be opposed to any of them making their way on to the server though.

It seems like you're looking for properly designed/tested new maps, so you could also check out de_atom and de_alexandra. They used to be on the rotation of the aforementioned server. (Also Cambodia) Both were decent. Nothing special.

How are these maps at forcing action? Even if a map is T sided, it seems like it could be fun as long as the best game plan is not "sit and wait."

I would love to play them sometime today, do you have the links do the downloads you used? (I have the day off or work, so I have a little more time to do whatever.)

I hate to keep pestering everyone w/o contributing anything, which is why my noob self is trying to get a look at some of these.

they are all on the steam workshop. Open CSGO go to play offline with bots, click the tab at the top that says workshop and just subscribe to the ones you want to play. I have to confer with Ice on exactly how to add maps to the admin list.

Alexandra seems like a cool map, but idk about Atom. It feels to cramped, even with the multiple routes to each site. It just seems like there will be a decent amount fo sitting done on that map, while Alexandra has narrow sections, but more direct confrontation options.

Combodia seems fine, lots of cover, but not the type layout that an entire team could hide behind (like Inferno). getting apwed on thet long LOS at the A site is going to be fun....

cpl_fire is big and complex, I have no idea how it would play out.

Siege looks ok, but man, breaking into the garage looks like a pain.

I looked at some others, but I have no idea how they would work.

I say try them all!

Couple notes:

First off: I haven't played siege in 10 years, but if it's at all similar to the old version, the front was nearly impossible to take without a good ct awper. I already mentioned how poorly designed Cambodia's A site is, so that doesn't need reiteration.

If the fire listed is the same as the classic version, it's hands down the best map ever made. I'd love to have the three cpl maps on the server. (Though mill has been changed and strike renamed mirage)

Playing extensively on both alexandra and atom I actually felt like atom was the more fast paced map of the two, though I preferred alexandra personally. Like I said before, neither of them are anything special, but if people want new maps that are at least relatively coherent and not buggy, those are places to start.

I also wouldn't dismiss prodigy for a pub map out of hand. I can see why people would dislike how slow and ct sided the old version was, but in competitive mode and with the new changes, it's actually a t sided map now. Fun little corridors, and a very different look overall is nice on the eyes. Also the deathtrap that was long hall has been effectively eliminated with the new door additions.

And as I previously proposed: season and piranesi (maybe chateau) are good enough to throw on to a rotation almost immediately, and are all worthy of at least being on the server list. (Believe Ice said season is there already)

As of now, we deleted Mirage because some idiot decided to make another version of mirage in workshop, so half of the times it boots half the server if they don't have the version we run.

I'll check out Alexandria later on and see how it is before I put it on the server.
