Male Contraceptives?

Lol, still reading random shit and passing it off as original thought. The flaw is that you don't understand what you're reading. A 10 year old knows that first and foremost, people have sex because it feels good. You may treat sex as a statistic (if you've ever had it) but sex is a basic human need. There are many issues (a mountain more than 8) that drive human sexuality. Speaking as someone who has experienced a lot of them, for pleasure, for procreation, for procreation again because I lost my wife and child in an accident, so in that instant, if filled a need you can't even imagine. Out of almost all of these, contraception is a secondary concern. When actually engaging in sex, it is more of a spontaneous act, not a cold planned event. But often, youth think they know it all or that Google is god. I encourage everyone to think for themselves and try to be original. A trait lost on people today.

I apologize if I stuck up a sensitive topic for you. I cannot imagine the kind of pain that it would be to loose a wife and child. A traumatic experience like that is a not one many people walk away from. The fact that you are here speaks volumes about your tenacity as a human. It is good to have you around, I'm glad you're still with us. I apologize for striking up a sensitive cord. Perhaps if this is a topic that brings back painful memories and thoughts it may be best to stay away from it. While you have made it very clear of your reasons for engaging in sexual activity, perhaps we should let others express how they feel about the topic as well. I did not start this topic to offend or bring about heated debate, I was just attempting to inform on some recent discoveries (while it is still a lab experiment).

i only read part of the thread and did not watch the video... i dont like the idea of pills for many reasons, i recently have seen stories for an scientist from india that is developing some kind of injection that basically blocks and or shreds sperm on its way out rendering it unable to get to an egg, one injection they say would last around a decade and at any time you can just get a different injection to neutralize the first one. i dont like the idea of needles being around my dick or balls but from what ive read i like the idea of it, seems quick and simple and easily reversible and apparently this guy has been doing human testing in india only for like 2 decades? anyone else seen this story floating around? i guess im more ok with gettin a quick shot in my shit to stop it than taking some pills everyday.

I have seen this story and I agree about not wanting needles near my balls. I am a bit more open to pills, although I tend to steer clear of them as best I can. My roomate and best friend is strongly against pills himself, he even refuses things such as vitamin supplements (although he does take protein powder). In general deciding which medications are worth taking and which are not, is completely up to the individual who is to be taking the medication. We all have our reasons for taking or not taking something and in the end, it is just one more factor that makes us unique. The same can be said for illicit drugs, legal drugs as well as pharmaceuticals.

its called pulling out... works all the time lol!

nah. I dont trust it. Think about women that take the pill. Im not saying this is all women but I know from varied experience, the female contraceptive pill changes hormones and lowers libido. the same would happen for males. it would stop the production of testosterone (sp?) and may fuck up erection ability.

Exactly. Don't know why people just don't use condoms.

Well according to the research it does not affect hormones. The only downside is up to a 33% reduction in the size of testicles. Once one has stopped taking the medication fertility returns to normal. It is a long way off the market, but we should see trials soon.

Not sure if you are aware, but when testicles are reduced in size it means than your LH and FSH are lowered. In other words, your testicles are not being told to make hormones so they just shrink in size. I know this because I do steroid cycles and research into hormones.

It is not even in clinical trials, it is just some information out of lab testing. We are a long way off actually seeing this and there is a lot that needs to be tested, such as the size problem.
