This is a real tough one to answer, my gaming time stretches back to when Pong made it's splash :-P

Mine will be more along lines of the real game changers for me over the years.

1) Duke Nukem (with Kali Net, it became the first online browseable FPS game)

2) Quake (With the mods bringing about CTF, 2Forts and numerous others, changed FPS gaming)

3) Halflife (All of this series are just refinements of existing games with some new and better online play)

4) Mine Craft (Brought about a ton of new gaming play mixing and matching action, strategy and a hell of a good time sink)

5) Diablo (Pretty much all of them are versions of the same thing, great bunch of fun collecting drops)

6) Everquest (Only played this a short time, I could easily see the humungous time sinks MMO's could pose)

7) Mario Kart (College, beer-kart was always pretty hilarious)

8) The Legend Of Zelda (One of the first adventure action games, truly ate up a millenium of kids time in those days)

9) Elder Scroll Series (For all those RPG fans, this was always the holy grail of open ended exploring)

10) Fallout (Elevated the action rpg to a new level of fun and exploring)
