They are really hit or miss. One time you go through the steak is to die for, the next time it will be tasteless and too much gristle.
Ruth Chris Steak House, is about the best for consistent quality steak cooked the way you ask for. Their prices are a tad high, the quantity a bit smaller then I like but everything at this place is tasty, even coffee and dessert.
1. NY strip or TBone
2. thick; 16 oz or so, not too big
3. crusty outside, medium rare inside
4. some acidic wine during eating
5. a nice potato
6. a shot of whiskey after eating
Ordered a m-rare steak yesterday... Came to me well done... I took the steak to the pick up window and gave it back... Ended up with fish... I want the steak to wince when I cut into it
