i'm interested in the game itself, synopsis? is it like rust or DayZ or what?

It's like any generic zombie survival game, you need food and water pretty frequently, and it's very easy to die until you figure the game out. It is easier to find weapons in 7 days over dayz, and the game isn't glitched out like dayz, where a zombie will warp through a wall and when you try to hit him with an axe, it somehow misses the first shot and he hits you, and you bleed out, and have a fractured arm, and then die and lose everything. haha There is a map and when you do die, you leave a backpack behind that will show up on the map, so you can go back and get it. If you die before you get it, it will replace the backpack on the map with your new death spot, but I believe both backpacks are still there.

There are a few unique things to this game over others. It has crafting, but it requires more than two items usually to make anything good. Like, the basic weapon you need is a stone axe, but to craft it, you don't just need wood and stone. You need sticks from bushes, sharped stone crafted by regular stones and plant fiber, crafted from grass. And the zombies react differently daytime vs nighttime. During the day, they slowly walk after you and it's easy to get away, but at nighttime, they sprint after you, and you aren't safe even sitting still in a house with the doors locked. They will break in and get you probably in the first night. So you MUST build spike walls, or some kind of defense against the dozen or so zombies breaking down your house. There are also random hoards of zombies that will pass by, with 10-20 zombies. And there are zombie dogs, that chase you, day or night, and they will kill you unless you have a gun. And finding items and weapons is much easier. You can search every car or bag of trash you see on the road, and there are a lot, and find an item maybe every 2-3 things you search.

As far as building houses, I have not gotten that far yet. I know you can craft walls and stairs and whatnot, but to the extent you can be creative, I don't know. I've currently just holed up in an existing house, with spike walls all around the exterior.

doob in search of the perfect zombie game. I will have to check this one out, Dayz is a complete turd. Rust was fun but after you have built everything, found all the weapon recipes, there isn't much to play for.

EDIT: PM me the server info, I grabbed the game, it looks promising.

So I have learned you can build houses as wildly as you want. I found out you can dig into hills, so @Pure3ify and myself dug deep into a mountain side and made an underground layer. I have an iron staircase leading down to my room, that is fully closed off by blocks of iron and I have a fancy bed there... haha I also built into the sky really high, while pure made a iron wall around the entire perimeter of the mountain.

One thing I didn't realize before is that you have the option to cheat in the game, if you press z you can get any item in the game. So to build the houses I cheated and took blocks, otherwise it would take FOREVER to gather and craft the iron blocks. It depends how I feel, sometimes I'll play for real and not cheat at all, while other times I get a bazooka and start blowing shit up.

Yeah me and D00b worked on quite the establisment the other day lol. Got a base fortified by walls in which I will be continuing to work on now to improve and make better for security and a "Start" Base if you will FOB for new members joining the game. I strongly encourage new players to try this game if you have played Minecraft and love the building aspect of the game and your creative minds flourish! I also encourage new players who have played DayZ and other Zombie Survival games and were sorta satisfied but you were left wanting more. This game is not kind to new players but when you get the basics down and you start really improving your game this game can be one of the most addicting games out there. You will spend hours apon hours working on your house or scavanging for supplies. Would love to show anyone around who are new and would like some help, the more days you survive in this game the harder the nights get to survive. Maybe one day we can see a connecting structure with a road lined with walls to another structure and so forth. I guess if you go into this game with a small goal and you complete it you may be detered from playing. But if you have big goals like that and you slowly work towards it...makes me want to come back! So join us if you want a new experience! :)

Having played this game a bit, sans the free goodies, this game would be an utter bitch to get a decent safe place built. Wooden structures aren't worth shit as the zombies seem attracted to anything made by players and will go around at night beating the shit out of those buildings. I have noticed some strange behavior from the zombies, they are pack animals and last night I watched and followed a heard of about fifty of them move around from building to building tearing them apart.

Pretty interesting game so far, just not an easy one to get established in.

I agree with you Fasttrak, me and D00b tried to put down barbed wire barriers and it didn't even slow them down, they ran right through it and got to us. So we tried building on top of a huge hill and the zombies tried digging through the hill and then up to get at us. They do so always in Herds. It is very hard to make a "Safe" area because they will just continually dig or attack your settlement. The base that we had set up before was breached and the zombies couldn't get through the wall so they dug under it and then came at us from below.

How is that even fair? Lol
