PC Gaming slowly dying?

Its crazy that BFH Hardline is pulling 22k people at tops on PC where PS4 and XB1 are pulling about 85k average each.

I think the future of PC gaming doesn't look too bright.
I am also worried that the next CS game will come out on consoles which may mean the final nail into the coffin.

I have COD for both the PC and XB1 and I actually enjoy the game on the XB1 more than the PC because its super easy to get on and game on a controller than a keyboard and mouse. Also with consoles its easier to play FPS games.

I think PC is doing fine, steam certainly is.

I honestly think it's just because shooters of that type have always fared better on console. For example, cod has always had more players on console, but their overall numbers are dying.

COD and BF games origins were from PC...kind sad that the PC community is soo small these days...
But buying a console these days is cheaper than investing in a gaming pc...they last an average of 6+ years between versions, plus people don't have to worry about the latest and greatest.

I'm a proud member of the PC gaming master race. An underclocked gtx 480 is faster than the peon console.

Sent from my Nexus 6

I remember going to buds house and playing L4d2 and I felt like an ass cause all I could do was bitch about console graphics. Lol always pc. Faster stronger better

Parents who are PC gamers should spend time with kids on building PCs. That process is dying. the transition is dying.

It is so easy to go out and buy a console and that's it.

Not really, i traded myself for two of my kids.

Console kiddies just don't know.. Aside tho. No, I'd say Hardline didn't have as much interest as what EA thought it would. most facebook posts on their Origin threads were mostly negative from what I saw.

I've been seeing more people coming in and looking for upgrades/new machines at my shop for MOBA games these days. And I think having to buy a separate part of bf4 for hardline might have made some people shy away

I agree with @A Stable Carbocation. Huge Franchise shooters thrive off the console market. But gaming is very diverse and some games, like Dota/LoL, will probably always do better on PC and they have a huge following as well. I personally cannot get into console gaming again, no matter how hard I try. I do have a Wii U strictly for all those cool nintendo games I cannot get anywhere else. I just love a mouse and keyboard over controllers, EXCEPT for Tony Hawks pro skater! hah

I wonder how the Steam Machine is going to sell and if it will bring a new following of players, or just fail miserably. I'm excited to see how it all unravels, along with all of Valves new gadgets.
