What's new

47Ronis Rock Heaven the Hardest!!!!

Finally got a functioning SLI bridge installed and a little OC on the two 980's.

Since we have two different bench's being done, with tessellation and with out.

With out Tessellation

Not bad on air, with some H2O this setup would go quite a bit higher on both core and memory.

Snapshot of GPUZ for you guys that are curious.

OK! I am freaking jealous.
Is that on your 4K monitor? how does it looks?

Not a 4K monitor, a 1440P, 2650x1440. Even at that resolution jump over my previous 1920x1280 was a massive hit to the frame rates, I can run this monitor up to 144hz and no 4K monitor can do that. I love the resolution, who wouldn't, but I really love how "smooth" everything feels now and many things are scaled down to be locked at 144 fps.

Been wanting to see what our cards could do actually running them at our native 1440P resolution. Below is a screen grab of my mild OC, running at 2560 x 1440. I ran it with tessellation off, I almost never run it as the performance hit to visual quality is not worth it to me, I usually work AA and HDR settings with good results and good frame rates.

Pic looked perfect on my monitor, nice!!!
Those cards clocked really well.

Might have to pester you for some fitting questions for a water build. With my case I can fit that massive 180MM x 585MM right in the bottom on top of the current fans. I will have to mod the case to fit it and also, rotate and shorten the hard drive cage. With my longer graphics cards I am going to have to relocate the nifty dust catcher to below the fans on the bottom of the case, not giving them up as they make it much easier to keep the inside clean.

Curious what sized tubing did you guys go with in your systems? Hunter, Gas?

And what size fittings and type? Did you use the compression fittings or just slip fittings?

I have all the basic components figured out, which reservoir, pump, GPU blocks and CPU block. It is all the connecting pieces I am uncertain with, and if they are all going to be compatible..

Use 1/2 ID and 3/4 OD Compression Fittings and Tubing, they are the most popular.

But I use 7/16 ID and 5/8 OD BitsPower Compression and PrimoChill Tubings.

The 7/16 and 5/8 fittings are more flexible than my 1/2 and 3/4 tubing. The total flow is not greatly impacted by the slightly smaller ID so I would go with the 7/16 5/8 tubing.

A triple 240 rad with your air penetrator fans would be overkill for your needs... Low rpm silent gaming is in your future!

One thing about WC that sold me was quiet operation :)
Running voltages that would nuke a chip on the best air cooling is fun. I went from about 85*C on my 780Ti's to about 36*C and added another 50mHz on the oc. My 3770k delided under water never tops 53*C... And those are under artificial loads!

I always run my GT's at the minimum rpm... Almost totally silent and running cool... I'm never going to use air cooling again... Water only!
