To preorder or to not preorder

I don't have them on Blu-Ray, a buddy of mine gifted his vhs collection of TNG to me a few years ago... when blu ray technology was first coming out. I took them and then flipped him off haha.

But yeah, I love TNG. STO is an alright game, but it is a lot of grinding. Ground battles are getting better, but not much (it feels like a really crappy version of Arma 2 with a 4 man squad). Space battles are cool, think free EVE online (with pay-for-premium).

Overall, the purchase of STO was fine with me, because now they give me 500 credits/mo to spend on the premium stuff since the game became free to play.
 
My take on preorders is pretty simple. If its a single player game like farcry or masseffect then I will never preorder it. I dont see the point. I recently preordered destiny as my very first pre order and I only did it because it is a multiplayer rpg and missing the first few days would put me behind my friends i am going to be playing with.

In summary online games I can see preordering to keep up with your friends and have the experience along with them since that is part of what you are paying for anyway. Single player games I dont see the point really.
 
Josh, I see your point. But I like to pre-order games if I think I want to add to the hype (especially if I feel like the price point is good - $ paid/hour played). If I spent 60 dollars on a game that I will spend 300 hours on, I am pretty satisfied with my purchase
 
I think the last game I pre-ordered was Street Fighter II for SNES - and i didnt even keep it, cuz I already got the japanese version by the time the US version came out, lol.
 
I think the worst game i preordered was age of conan. That game was a mess. So much unfinished content, and retarded design choices. I wanted AOC and Warhammer Online to be good i really did.
I think my best preorder ended up being wow for 2 reasons: 1. I do not preorder much. 2. I've played for way to long.
