So, I saw "The Purge" last night and it really made me think. First of all, if you don't know what it is about, (Without spoiling it) It is about the U.S government years from now holding an event every year where all crime is legal for 12 hours, and how a family treats this 'Day'.
So I found a couple interesting things with this movie,
(This is not my personal belief, but I think was intended by the director) If you notice, the Caucasians are the wealthy 'folks' of the neighborhood and the homeless guy is an African American. I think that is not the case now nor will it be in the future, but I think that was put into place for a reason...

SPOILER ALERT
IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE, DON'T READ BELOW!
I think the above was intended because of the homeless man saving the rest of the family even though they were going to 'sacrifice' him to the outside crowd. I think it shows that no matter your status in society you can be either good or bad, it also shows that the human race is far from perfect or 'good', and that if given the opportunity to do anything without any sort of repercussions, we would literally do ANYTHING. So it comes down to this, who would you trust in this situation? People in the movie went after all the homeless and poor who couldn't defend themselves, yet in the end, the homeless and the poor are (is) the one who saves you. Just shows that it doesn't matter how much money someone has, it still doesn't make them trustworthy, and if given the opportunity, they would turn on you faster then you think.

So what do you think? Do you agree? Disagree?
Would love to hear what you guys think!
Thanks
