Random headaches, acid reflux and back pains... advice?

just some advice from someone who was working 2 part time jobs on my feet btw 9-12 hours a day(half of it was unloading trucks, and pulling pallets that weigh up to 2000lbs)...good shoes make a hell of a difference and I replace the insoles on them every 3 months. go look up merrell shoes (i tend to buy the hiking boots, bc everything else seems to fall apart on me) they are the best i have found yet and see if you can find a store that carries them so you can try them out. also, don't use dr.scholls crap insoles. go to althitic store and find the walking insoles. I buy spenco b/c they give a year warranty on them and i wear them out btw 3-4 months and they replace them for free. ohh and calcium pills help too :p

Built pretty much said it all plus he stated it very eloquently , articulately , and thoroughly. I would only add that repetitive stress injuries are also called cumulative stress injuries. The stress does not refer to emotional or psychological stress although those types of stresses can certainly exacerbate and/or aggravate the symptoms caused by such maladies. So it's always best to consider them as well. Cumulative stress is ninja. We rarely see him and sometimes don;t even know he's injured us until he's already vanished. Look, if there are any other gals or guys where you work that have been doing the same job for a long time it may be helpful to talk to them about your symptoms. Chances are they'll know exactly what you're going through and they may be able to offer some simple solutions. Don't dismiss any suggestions that seem silly or insignificant. Often it only takes a very slight shift in weight to throw a ninja to the ground. And don't ignore the ninja hoping he'll go away. He won't. His pleasure is in wearing you down until he breaks you. If I had to deliver drinks I'd use a cart. I've dispatched a lot of ninjas but they keep coming. Ninjas never seem to learn. But you can.

Nicotine inhilation (and not limited to second hand smoke) is known to cause acid reflux, and headaches. If you're working in an air conditioned casino, even a slight amount of second hand smoke inhailed over an 8 hour shift can affect your physiology. Just a thought.

actually, milk is bad (but i drink it anyway) because the fat induces more acid production and, i believe, it relaxes your esophagial sphincter muscle

I don't drink milk. I never have liked it & since my body or bones rather produce way too much calcium anyways I need to stay away from dairy products. Yay for calcium oxalate kidney stones!

ya, they aren't cheap but taking care of your feet is very important(i used to be cheap about it but i end up paying for it when i had some stress fractures on my feet)...i spent $110 on walking shoes from foot locker and burned through them in a year or less. The heel was completely bald from any tread and the shoe was tearing apart lol. i bought a pair of their Moab Mid Ventilator shoes 9 or 10 months ago, the bottom of it isn't even half way bald yet and no tears on them. i've been very impressed with them.
