MoBo upgrade

Buy me an airplane ticket to Florida, I will do it for you :)
Make sure the triangle on the CPU matches the triangle on the mobo.
Tighten the Heatsink screws like tighten the car tire.
When you see smoke, that means you did it wrong....just kidding :p

I know how to install the mobo and all the hardware, I'm just confused about the software if I have to re-install windows or if I have to remove all my current mobo drivers and software that supports my mobo

I am not going to say impossible, had a couple mb upgrades and the OS booted to safe mode on old install. Still, best to do a clean install when you do a major upgrade. End up with a cleaner OS, less registry crap hanging around Before install download fresh divers for everything you can, I dump this on a USB drive and use it to update everything clean and fresh.

Hopefully, it'll at least boot up to where you can install the drivers. Win98/XP days, swapping to a different mobo almost always blue screened before you could get to the desktop, unless the old/new hardware was similar enough. I'm 97.3% sure you'll have to re-activate Win7 if you get that far, but I've managed to reactivate with OEM, once or twice over the phone with MS when doing so online said I had activated a max # of times. That was years ago though. Not sure if Cut's still offering Win 7 keys from a few days ago, just in case.

I would just do a clean install anyways =) Fresh hardware should have a fresh windows install! :D
