Map suggestions for the go server

The 47 Ronin
So, during my 12+ years playing cs I've come across my share of poorly designed maps. That said, there were also maps from back in the day that were pretty fun, and if nothing else deserve to be loaded on the server so we can play throwback cs once in a while. Some would work out in a rotation, some likely wouldn't. (I'm not sure if a couple of these even exist yet in cs go, so disregard any you can't find)

de_piranesi: cool map that's a little t sided, fun layout, very different.
de_prodigy: used to be crazy ct sided, with new changes it's actually t sided if anything. fun map.
de_season: oldschool competitive map. nice layout, quite balanced. proved very popular in the day.
de_cpl_fire: hands down the best map ever made. not sure if a go version exists, but keep an eye out.
de_chateau: a little lackluster, but not a bad map by any means. maybe a little ct sided.
lost_temple: again, ct sided. this map is fun though. aztec tile set, but not as ct weighted.
de_survivor: this used to be one of my favorite maps like 10 years ago. really unique and fun to play.
de_storm: kind of has an original dust style layout, (bridge/underpass/tunnel) but not as ct sided.
de_torn: another oldschool map i used to love. very different/fun. good mix of close/ranged confrontations.

and for laughs every now and again: fy_poolday / de_rats: stupid, but hilariously fun maps. no explanations needed. (likely not to be considered for rotation)

As someone who has been really been playing cs a grand total of like 60 days....

As long as Inferno (so named because it comes straight from Hell), Nuke, and Office never appear again, I say let's find as many of these as we can.

The only problem is the fact that it using of these maps might kill the server. It's sad that Dust has to be loaded again and again due to people leaving. Still, it may be worth at least trying?

The problems are that most of the maps above have not been converted to CS:GO and some of them are still buggy, I am keeping an eye on the CS:GO Workshop for some worthwhile maps.

It's time of day dependent. I've played in servers where piranesi/season were used to bring people in. Look at favela and motel. They kill the server late at night, but during peak hours they do just fine. None of the maps listed would do any worse, though I would suggest tinkering with the rotation again. Adding cbble would be a place to start.

Inferno is a great map btw.

We have cbble added to the list, just not on the rotation. As mentioned, I'd suggest having admins put those maps during peak hours and see how they do, if they do great after few days we will be happy to add them to the rotation.

I'll see about adding season to the list tonight.

That's kind of odd, I wonder what it is about the late night crew... I would almost expect the opposite.

I don't like Inferno because I am far too impatient to play the way that map requires (with large numbers of people). I'm also not good enough to rush into small, closely watched spaces and kill everyone.

@ice. 5 of the top 6 are definitely around for go. I used to play all of them on my old server last year.
(I mentioned the others potentially not being around yet)

I'd recommend just loading what you can, and then setting the rotation to something like: inferno/mill/d2/piranesi/season/mirage/d2/cbble/nuke. A longer rotation isn't necessarily a bad thing, and admins can always throw other maps into the fold with a vote.

Just my two cents.

Season is there, so is mill and cbble and mirage.
The only one that is not on there is piranesi.

I searched these on the workshop and found

Piranesi: Always a good map to play every now and then. personally i dont like it but not a bad map
Cpl_Fire: Not sure if version is the same but looks playable. Worth trying out, i mean we tried out Iceworld so the bar for trying maps out is low.

I also found a few popular maps such as
Gwalior: Most popular workshop map, looks awesome, I havent played but looks great
Print: Looks Meh but Id have to try it.

If you got a legit version of fire on the server I'd be stoked. I've never played one so far in csgo. (Also the new prodigy/chateau are pretty cool maps you should upload if they aren't there already)

Maybe thinning the heard a tad wouldn't be such a bad idea either. I'm always running cycles through the pool to find the right versions of things. (What the hell is de_lake?) I've never even heard of half the maps on the list.
