Ok so maybe 4days now my laptop fan been making this buzzing like noise and today it got worst. It makes a click type of noise too now... Does anyone know if my fan bearing is damaged or fan just dying?? Had this laptop for only 4months now and it was in its original box since last December when I got it.

Does laptop warranty covers these kind of things or do I need to do it myself?

P.S. I know for sure its not my HD cuz I opened where my HD was located and it wasnt the those HD click of death.
 
Always claim warranty. Anything you do will void it. And anything you leave on your hard-drive will become public information. :)
 
Contact manufacturer support for warranty details. If warranty repair, you may have to ship the laptop to them or a take it to warranty repair shop. Be ready to be out of a laptop for some time. I bought a new HP laptop which was known to run hot with discreet NVidia GPU. Sure enough, screen went out after a little more than a year. No warranty there for me. I would never buy a laptop again because I can't fix the damn thing myself.
 
Do these dumb Tech support like to troll people or what?? Called Toshiba support to get info on fan repair under warranty and they spew stupid crap like take out the battery, discharge your laptop, put battery wait let me put on hold while you doing this- hangs up-.... Called them twice with same result and both times I repeatedly told them my fan is dying theres nothing wrong with the laptop beside it can I just get it repair using my warranty. :unhappy:
 
lol... i dont buy toshiba. i stick to dell, thinkpads, and asus. :p i use dell support through my work, though, lol.

Lol dont get me started with ASUS support always transfer to you India to get support instead of from the US and have to deal with crap telephone connection....
 
haha I had a hard drive die with a Toshiba. They went through the same troubleshooting asking me to boot & reboot, but I tried to spare the half hour by saying it can't cuz it's dead, but you know they're following some script of questions. They eventually agreed to have it sent it. I've had 4 Toshiba laptops, all had some issue or another, but somehow but I'd still choose them over some other brands.

This the 2nd Toshiba laptop with a fan failure :( I love the brand and all over some other major brands and their laptop performances for price is well worth. Well I tried to spare these guys as well but they just wont listen to me... I dont get it why we need to recycle power and what not when we tell them what the problem is specifically :p
 
yah, just play along. "did it reboot?" ... while pwning it on the server, just reply "its goin..."
