What's new

Help me out guys.. WTF IS THIS?!

I havnt had a chance to clear the cmos the old fashion way (thru bios u mean correct?) because of it shorting out like this.

I want to RMA it, I think I will here shortly, I want to see if it'll atleast boot up proerply with that little piece of paper I got lodged in there.

By old fashion way he means moving the plastic tab that holds the charge on the CMOS battery to clear. This is the first thing I do when I have problems post overclock. Nearly always fixes it. I would refer to your manual for instructions. If you cant figure it out, pop out the battery itself.

Save yourself the pain of going through an RMA, they take a while and a partial rebuild rebuild required. My guess is there is trouble with one of the solder contacts on that external switch, I have the same on my Rampage Extreme. Keep the paper wedged and you should have no trouble with it again, if you do now you know where to fiddle.

Fasttrak

Asus has a facilty in Fremont and I had local-pick-up RMA before, got the replacement board in 30 mins, kinda cool!!! :)

I still suggest get a new board

-take out the battery
-short the CMos jumper for ~5secs
