Headset, mouse recommendations

I am in the market for a new headset and mouse. I was hoping to get some recommendations.

1. Headset: I have had a number of headsets, all of which were USB based. Before my cats ruined them by chewing up the cords, I always noticed that they had really severe feedback no matter what I tried. Therefore I am considering getting a headset with 2 x 3.5mm connectors. Because my on-board sound has also been known to be kinda wonky, I think I will add an inexpensive sound card to go with my new headset. So, I'm looking for recommendations for a 2x3.5mm headset and a sound card to go with it.

2. Mouse: My wireless mouse has been kinda sketchy lately, so I think it's time to upgrade. I'm considering going with a wired mouse (because I'm just that pro). Again, any recommendations from a gaming standpoint? I don't need 400 buttons, just a good quality mouse. Thoughts?

Thanks guys.

Depending on your budget, you can get some decent stereo headphones and a clip-on mic (or mod mic) set-up that will sound a lot better than any gaming headset. I would recommend the sennheiser HD555 but they have discontinued it :(. This is the replacement for the 555s. There are some other cheaper options but I have not been keeping up with the headphone world for a bit, will have to look into it more. Head-Fi.org - Headphone forums and reviews for audiophiles is a great resource

As for the mouse, depends on how you hold you mouse and how big you hands are. My hands are pretty big so my razor deathadder 2013 fit me pretty good as it is a big mouse.

I got a Razer Deathadder 2013 and it's awesome.

I recommend it if you want a mouse upgrade

Logiotech G500 is what I use and love it! Logitech G930 7.1 wireless gaming headset. Can't go wrong. Make sure all your rates and settings are good and let the fraggin begin!

Any Logitech gaming mouse is good if you're like me and want to buy cheap good mouse go to ebay and type Aula its a Chinese gaming mouse.

As for headset I like Steelseries Siberia. You can go to Amazon and buy the Siberia v2 for $55 (Black color) or $58 (White color). But if you can find a Siberia v1 go with that one. It has the 3.5mm you're looking for an has excellent sound quality

all you people w/ expensive mice and headsets... im still using my decade old gear from my college days... MS intellimouse and plantronics .audio 90's, lol.

but if i were in the market for new cans and a mouse, i'd go with the deathadder and another set of plantronics cans. if i were an audiophile, i'd grab a better set of cans and that modmic looks very tempting.

Klipsch image x10 $129-149 will out perform any set of cans you could put on... My xba4's sound better than my $1000 shennhiser cans... You also get better sound isolation

If that is out of you budget the x4 $129 or s4 $49 is a very solid choice, to the average person they might not hear the difference... But you can get the x10 for the same price as the x4 on Amazon if you look

And for a sound card the sound blaster z starts at $79 and if you turn up the surround to 100 percent you will basically have sonar... I have been kicked for walling and other things of the sort bc I actively use the highly positioned sounds of my sound blaster to my advantage
And it also comes with a stereo mic... So no need to buy one

As far as mice go the latest generation of the deathadder $59 is a solid mouse that has been refined over 4 generations.. It also has a cloth braided cord that won't snag

And take a cotton ball and tea tree oil and rub down the cables you don't want your cat to chew.. Cats HATE tea tree oil and wont touch them... Just reapply monthly
