Death of a PS3

My PS3 recently died and was one part of my entertainment system. I went out yesterday to look at Bluray players, considered the Xbox or PS3 as replacement and thinking of just grabbing either a PS4 or Xbox as replacement.

Fill me on these two new gaming systems, not really much of a console gamer, this will mostly be a media player with Bluray capability. Which of these two systems integrates better as a media hub?

The shitty thing about getting a ps4 replacement... no backwards compatability with the ps3

id go with PS3 or PS4. with the xbox360 or xboxone, you will need a subscription i believe to get online to use hulu and netflix...also i do not believe they have blu-ray capabilities. id just go with a ps3 cause its cheap and you dont really game on the console anyways. just my honest opinion. maybe go to gamestop and buy a used one? i bought a used ps3 slim for $70 with 7 games with it...cant beat that and it was clean, like new. got a friend selling ps4 with 8 games for $400...

with PS4 and xbox, in order to play or get online, you have to pay a FEE $$$$$!!! :(

get another PS3 for cheap that's my vote, that way all your shit is still compatible and don't have to spend extra money for gears and games.

you can also consider a smart blueray play if you don't play games...or apple TV + a cheap blue ray player
