What's new

Anyone have a Galaxy S9+?

I expect that from my 72-year-old mom who just went from a 6 to 13 Pro, but a techie/gamer?
i like my TouchID! and real home button! lol, but really it's just the price... these newer phones are so damn expensive that I don't think they're worth the cost of the upgrade... at least not until this one dies. But yah, this phone reached EOL a year ago, and only today did i start experiencing sluggish apps. 7yrs! it's about that time.

You say this, but I'm still using my Pixel 3. The fact that it is no longer being supported though, is making me slowly transition to the Pixel 4A I bought two years ago hahaha

lol, so you do the same as me, just with phones instead of pc parts!

so I finally upgraded my 6s+ earlier this year (feb.2023). waPao gave me his old 12 Pro Max. I really miss TouchID... I hate FaceID, even after 6 months of using it. Like in the car, i dont need to look directly at my phone, cuz sometimes, there's glare, so I need it at a certain angle, lol.

iPhone gang here but I’ve been considering switching to android. The gap between iOS and android is minimal now and performance is much better from a hardware perspective on androids.

I gotta keep this thread going, handy timeline of history.
I seem to be jumping back and forth from Google & Samsung (Pixel, S9+, Pixel 2XL, Note20 Ultra, Pixel 6 Pro...).
A little late since S24's will be released soon, but I'm on an S23 Ultra now.

I was kind of hoping Google making both software and hardware, it'd be more stable like Apple, but it seems every phone release has its share of issues.
The Google pureness of a Pixel is tempting, and yet some of the Samsung tweaks and bonuses are also nice (missed the extra optical zoom & stylus, even if rarely used).
Will have to place some bets on who wins me over next time. :p

Google camera software has been improving.

I’d still say Samsung is still king for androids.

I have been procrastinating on responding to these posts. I have a Galaxy S9+ and it's great. But if I were you, I'd get the latest models. The last update to the core phone was a year. But the apps are updating. Google camera/Samsung camera has been improving, yes. Agreed.

As for iPhone, its basically a Chinese app. Tim Cook has been kissing China's ass for a while now. Just recently, Jon Stewart just got removed by Apple TV because he planned to talk about China and AI, both of which I agree is alarming. If you have a Chinese app, product or service, you are being tracked, and "controlled" by the CCP.

I agree on Samsung. They are great for phones, and TV's.

Why am I saying to go beyond S9? My latest core version is in March 2022, and the apps have been updating from here and there... but some apps aren't up to date, for example, the On-Screen Keyboard, Samsung Keyboard has been lagging for a while no matter if the other apps has been updated or not. It lags on YouTube, it lags on brave, etc. Refreshing the phone doesn't work. This would have been my 2nd refresh, and I still getting lag. I don't think it's hacked, I just think that Samsung Keyboard is old and needs to be updated by Samsung.
