well I don't know what y'all are on, but I played for about 8 hours yesterday and had an amazing time. The gameplay is super fast, something I am NOT at all used to...it took a while to get used to respawning again in a shooting game
It's definately not going to be a cult classic, or anything that lasts the test of time for replayability unless the full game brings something the beta did not, but I can definitely say that a rough estimate is that I'll likely play the game for 50-100 hours happily.
The minimap shows red dots as the enemy. Light pink dots are grunts (NPC) and the dark red are players (Pilots) so you always know who you're going up against (if you play more than an hour). Depending on which play mode you are in, killing a ton of grunts (which is easy) could mean a win.
Modes are free-4-all deathmatch style where kills = points and it's your team point total vs the other team point total.
Control the Hard Points mode where there's 3 points you try to capture & keep...most points are gained in taking or defending the points. If you sit around at a point that's not being overrun, you won't get any points accumulating, so you need to always be aware of where the action is.
Last Titan standing is where everybody starts w/ a Titan and when it's gone, you don't get it back. Whichever team hast the last remaining Titan wins, first team to take 4 rounds wins. IMO this mode is fine for 1-2 games maximum before you'll want to get back into the other game styles.
Control the Hard Points is my favorite, and unlike games like BF4 where the gameplay is slow and you're spending more time trying to get where you're going than fighting, Titanfall is constant firefight after firefight. You need to balance out playing as a Pilot on foot, where you can control areas and get points with spawning and piloting your Titan to provide coverage for your teammates who are still on foot. It's a constant back and forth between aggressive and defensive play and if you get a good team of 6 players on your team (it's a 6v6 game max at this point) you can easily out strategize the other team.
I give it a 9/10
