You'll notice the change in my water marks as i wasnt satisfied with what i was using. the cosplay photos were taken at random cosplay getherings or anime expo... you can view the full album for ax at my fb page but i am in the process of rediting them to fit my current editing style. Note i didnt mean to submit the photo under the attached files section... also shot out to suicide george for giving me some pointers

Now I know why -L- got into photography!

Haha it's more complicated than just that. This just ended up being the area i seemed most comfortable shooting but I still trying to break into other genres where i can shoot.

Sadly the cosplay scene in san diego age graphic is very young and at the moment are all obsesed with hetalia and home stuck ... kinda annoying but there are some good cosplayers... If I want to shoot good cosplayers I need to go to LA and I hear some areas there I'd have to pay. Currently looking for some nice shooting spots. Kinda wanna shoot in an abandoned area but also scared that I might get in trouble :p

Babes ... magaganda sila (tagalog for they are beautiful, i think).

Hey, 47-photogs!
Name's Devin. My senior year of college I did some photog work for the school newspaper.
Almost none of these made it to print, but they're some of my favourites.
Some have also been massively edited in terms of color, contrast, highlights and darks, and regular cropping. All opinions are welcome.

I am nothing more than a critic. I gotta say, nice work guys. I also gotta give L an Honorable Mention. L, your compositions are really coming together nicely and I must say that you're developing a good eye along with a strong technique. You've improved remarkably since you posted those first photos gee...what was that...2 years ago? 3? Nice work L.

I also like the Devin's diving photo as well as the dog hanging its head out the window. Actually Devin, those are all nice pieces. The two stage photos seem a bit too washed out to me but that's probably because they don't quite fit in with the some of the others that have a stronger emphasis on contrast and shadow. I know they'd work in a different setting/venue. The little girl picture makes me smile and the dog...well, he/shr makes me feel good.

I'm of the opinion, probably because I'm travelling as of tomorrow, that photos, in an artistic context, should evoke emotion(s) as opposed to depicting a subject as in person, place, or thing. As with any artistic endeavor, eliciting a compulsory response is what makes the artist, at least intrinsically, successful.

George, who is that? She's lovely. I love the comparison series.

LOL @myself. I just realized that the dog is part of Pookeybear's sig. LOL.

If i missed anyone it's simply because i am pressed for time.

We're all critics; everyone just brings their own perspective to the table.

You've got a point - You'd hope that the subject matter in your photos is able to convey those emotions. If they do not, or are in a poor position to do so, it falls upon the photographer to offer the right perspective upon the subject matter - as if saying, "Hey! This is cool, now look at it THIS way."

The viewer may never be where the photog is, esp at that specific point the moment is captured. Thus it's the "artist's" job to transport the viewer there effectively.

I just realized that the dog is part of Pookeybear's sig. LOL.

Awesome - That made me laugh.
