    Here is my Rig, My first build from about a month ago. I was going for the cheaper side only cost me around $700 with room to upgrade.

    16gb Kingston Ram
    HIS Radeon 6850
    AMD 960t 3.0 Quad
    ASUS M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970
    620w antec ps

    Pix of my work-gamestation. Mix of very old (Sun Ultra10 for work), old (AMD XP 2400+ for flightsims), old (AMD X2 4200+ for net surfing), and not-so-new (AMD PhenomII 3.4GHz). Yes, I can squeeze my legs in between them Mid-Towers. Don't be playing "I Spy" challenge on my cluttered table...

    My Dell keyboard has 2 USB ports where I connect the mouse to.
    The keyboard itself is USB. I use that connector to hook up one PC at a time as needed.
    Each PC (except the Sun Ultra) has USB ports in front, conveniently, to connect my keyboard.
    Yes, I agree, a switcher would be best. Last time I checked, switcher is unjustifiably not worth it for me.

    p.s.
    I use Dell LCD monitors as well because some models have 2 USB ports on the side and 2 in the back.
    They are powered USB ports, so I never have any problems. Just ask Hunter. I think he uses Dells as well.
