why? explain your opinion, since i never asked when this thread was actually active, lol.
Ceramic pads are quieter than semi-metallic but you do get some brake dust building up. However they do well under heat hence ceramic is the industry standard nowadays. Semi-metallic have a bit more bite to them but they do squeal a bit.
Personally I wouldn't recommend semi-metallic cause they wear out faster and wear the rotors a bit more faster than ceramics. If you need pads I would stick with R1 Concept Performance or EBC Red/Yellow stuff.
What would you recommend for brake pads for my 2005 Honda Civic EX.
Probably Hawk Street performance pads if you want to be budget friendly. You want something with a little more bite to it then EBC red stuff but those are a bit pricey.
Mind you these are for fronts only. Your rear brakes for the EX I believe were drum brakes so you will need to get brake shoes.
